TIME’s debut gravel bike quickly notched several victories, now updated to take wider wheels and tyres – our ADHX (Alpe d’Huez X) 45 also incorporates Bio-Based Dyneema®, the World’s Strongest Fiber®, to build a better performing machine. It’s the first to utilize braided carbon structure (BCS) manufacturing, a TIME exclusive that outperforms traditional carbon prepreg construction in almost every way by incorporating several types of fiber into each multidirectional braid. The ADHX 45 is first in quality and tolerance control thanks to our highly accurate resin transfer moulding (RTM) process and is manufactured entirely in the EU using one of the most sustainable manufacturing processes in the industry. TIME’s first performance gravel offering is more than a cursory nod – in many ways the arrival of the ADHX makes it the clear leader in a very crowded field – with pedigree to spare, an iconic look and an attitude eager to make a splash.

Bio-Based DYNEEMA® Fiber is Lighter, Stronger and Smarter

Dyneema® fiber is 15x stronger than steel at the same weight and is so light that it floats on water. The promise of integrating Dyneema® in carbon structures has been making headlines for years now, but to date very few manufacturers have been able to incorporate the material. TIME is different–we aren't reliant on materials availability from large carbon prepreg manufacturers. By weaving our own braided carbon structures (BCS) we have been able to test strands of sustainable Bio-Based Dyneema® fibres since they first became available from DSM. And unlike the high temperature ovens used to cure standard prepreg frames, the lower resin temperature of the RTM injection process is well within the safe temperature range for Dyneema®

When properly engineered, carbon is often praised as a compliant, vibration-absorbing material, but not all carbon is created equal. The ADHX 45 uses a range of carbon fibers and other filaments, including Kevlar, Vectran, and Dyneema® fibers—which can be found exclusively in TIME frames.

Dyneema is a high-modulus polyethylene fiber known for excellent energy absorption and high impact resistance. Compared to carbon fiber, Dyneema® has inherent vibration-damping qualities due to its polymer structure, which is more flexible than carbon. This flexibility allows it to absorb more energy from vibrations, resulting in a smoother ride.

TIME strategically incorporates Dyneema® fibers with a proprietary blend of 16 carbon fiber types to craft the ADHX 45, designed for gravel riding's unique challenges: rough surfaces, larger tires, and high speeds.
